Android Wear – Google’s operating system for smartwatches

Android Wear

Google is moving fast into wearable devices.  First step is creating Android Wear, an operating system for smartwatches. This will help you getting information like real-time speed, directions, and time on your wrist when you’re out for a walk or run. You will be able to synchronize your smartwatch with you smartphone. You will get all reminders and stuff from apps that you installed on your mobile phone.

Who will use Android Wear?

Google already made partnerships with LG, Asus, HTC, Motorola, and Samsung to provide the hardware for this operating system. Broadcom, Imagination, Intel, MediaTek, and Qualcomm will provide the chips.

How Android Wear will help you?

  • You will be able to make a search or send a text message relying on “Google Now” just by saying “Ok Google” ;
  • You will receive notifications from social networks;
  • You can receive pictures directly on your smartwatch;
  • You can link to your other devices like your computer or television and give voice commands like playing a song or movie

We will hear much more about Android Wear from June 25th to 26th. It will be interesting how Google will implement Android Wear on other wearable. Maybe we can expect some luxury models equivalent to the Omega Seamaster soon.
